It's Spring! It's Spring! At long last, the darkness is lifting and it's time for a clean slate. The PU&GG Team is hard at work at organizing the 2017-2018 line-up. We're gathering together to bring you some awesome new products and some amazing LARP events! Our LARP season begins the first weekend in June, so keep an eye on the Shaleria LARP Facebook site for more details.

As we clear out the old and bring in the new, you may have noticed that we haven't updated this website in a while (it was a long, long, loooonnnggg, winter.) The great news is that we will soon have a shiny NEW website! We are currently in the process of upgrading and moving our website to a new hosting site to bring you the best online experience possible. Over the next month, we will be putting the finishing touches on our new site and we can't wait for you to see it. Our site address will not change, so you'll still be able to find us as easily as you have been. If you want to keep abreast of our comings and goings, please join the PU&GG Team on Facebook and Twitter. Over the next couple of months, the information will start rolling out in earnest, so stay tuned!

The PU&GG Team wants to thank Rigg'd Games for the shout-out earlier this month! We love his show and encourage everyone to check out the magic that John Riggs weaves with old cartridge games and his lovely family. John, if you get a chance to read this, thank you!

Ok, time to get back to work. Again, please join us on the Facebook pages and on Twitter to keep up with all of the PU&GG announcements and info. We're excited to share everything we're working on with you!

GameholeCon 2016 is OV-AH! What an amazing weekend! This year, PU&GG set up in Demo Row right next to the main doors to the con and boy, it was crazy! People everywhere, but never body-crunching packed. This position gave us a fantastic opportunity to people watch and witness quite a bit of what the con had to offer. It was a change from last year and we enjoyed it tremendously! Check out the pictures above to see the team and products in action!

One aspect we love about the gaming community is the diversity of people you meet: old, young, families, single, brand new to gaming or veteran of multiple decades, every line of work, education, and income level. We spoke with, worked with, demo'd for, purchased from, and just hung out with people from all over and had an absolute blast doing it! We met fans of Crypts & Creatures, made new friends, presented our guest author Dylan Held with his official copy of the Smuggler's Run module, traded stories with industry insiders, bought some more artwork from the wonderful Jason Braun (see his work in The Ruins of Zikx module), and even helped a mom find some presents for her kids (lucky kiddos will be playing Heroes of Shaleria over their Christmas cookies!). The whole team was blown away by the support of everyone we came in contact with, so we'd love to thank each and every one of you! An especially huge THANK YOU goes out to the staff and volunteers of GameholeCon!! You up the game every year and GameholeCon continues to get better and better! We feel so lucky to be a part of it and can't wait to return in 2017!
Be sure to check back soon and, if you haven't yet, join us on Facebook and Twitter to catch all of the latest PU&GG news. After a few days downtime, the team will begin prepping to head to Milwaukee, WI on January 12-15, 2017 for the Midwinter Gaming Convention at the Hilton Downtown Milwaukee City Center. We'll once again be demo-ing the Heroes of Shaleria Card Game as well as selling copies of our Crypts & Creatures d20 Roleplaying Game. We are also going to debuting a new product or two at the con, so we hope you'll join us for all of the gaming fun!

That's everything for now. If you were at GameholeCon this weekend or want to connect with the PU&GG Team, please contact us through the message box on the left or email us at [email protected] We'd love to hear from you!

As always, the whole team thanks all of you for your continued support. We keep going because of you! Thank you! See you in January in Milwaukee!

Camp Nerd Fitness... The experience of a lifetime!

Last month, Heather finally fulfilled a dream 3 years in the making: attending Camp Nerd Fitness. She returned to us faster, stronger, and more determined than ever to become a Monk/Ranger in real life. She trained in sword fighting, martial arts (especially Brazilian Jiu Jitsu), inversions, mobility, healthy eating, and psychological warfare against depression, anxiety, negative body image, and everyday negativity. Side-by-side with 450 of her newest friends, she completed 5 days of intense instruction, inclusion, love, and fun. More than just a bunch of nerds hanging out and talking geek, the camp quickly became a tight-knit family and a community that will last a lifetime. Curious about leveling up your life in an amazing way? Check out both the Nerd Fitness website for the main community and keep an eye on the Camp Nerd Fitness website for the 2017 camp details. #CNF365
That's all she wrote for now. The PU&GG Team apologizes for the infrequent posts, but hope to be back with lots of info and more later this year. As always, the whole team thanks all of you for your continued support. We keep going because of you! Thank you!

GenCon Wrap-Up, Product Update, Autumn LARP Event and...Nerd Camp?

Greetings, fellow adventurers! Yes, we know GenCon was over a month ago, but it's been a crazy month to say the least. So much going on for the PU&GG Team! Let's not waste any time. On with the show...

GenCon 2016 Wrap-Up

Boy, did that go by fast! GenCon 2016 was big, loud, and jam-packed with far too many awesome choices. The days, weeks, and months leading up to GC always hold the promise of an amazing week and 2016 did not disappoint. The PU&GG Team ran games, played games, ate, slept, and breathed games and gaming for a whole week. It was inspiring, invigorating, and exhausting! But worth every moment. We fan-boy'd (and fan-girl'd)  as we met (or ran into or chased down) some better-known folk (Grant Wilson, formerly of Ghost Hunters, now one of the heads of Rather Dashing Games, numerous members of Zombie Orpheus Entertainment and Dead Gentlemen Productions, and more). We ate all the things! We drank from the deliciousness that is Sun King Brewery and Bee Coffee Roasters. We came, we saw, we kicked GenCon's ass! Heather went live on Facebook numerous times during the week and we hope to upload some of her less-rambling videos (and many pictures) over the next several weeks. Overall, another memorable experience and we already can't wait to go back in 2017!

New Products Are On The Way!

Heroes of Shaleria: Monsters & Traps

The PU&GG Team has also been hard at work compiling our first Expansion Deck for the Heroes of Shaleria Card Game: Monsters & Traps! Autumn LARP Event in 2 Weeks!

PRE-PAY IS NOW OPEN!
Our 7th LARP season concludes with our annual Autumn Event being held the weekend of Sept. 30 & Oct. 1-2. We are extremely excited to return to the beautiful Rockford Christian Camp with their heated cabins, hot showers, and full kitchen lodge. Players, Monster Campers, and non-player attendees alike will be able to kick back, relax, eat, and enjoy a weekend of roleplaying, boffer-weapon fighting, and camaraderie with fellow gamers as the GMs weave the story and present challenges for the players to overcome.
While our LARP events are open to families with children, we caution that our events are geared towards the 18+ crowd. Anyone under 18 is required to have their parent or guardian sign a separate waiver in addition to the event waiver and anyone under 16 must have a parent or guardian accompanying them at all times.

Nerd Fitness Camp Exists and it's Awesome!

In one week, Heather is headed down to Georgia to visit with some family, then is off to Camp Nerd Fitness for 5 whole days to learn from experts in fields such as Olympic Weight Lifting, Sword Fighting, Parkour, Archery, Nutrition (Michelle Tam from Nom Nom Paleo!!), Mind-Body Connections, Hacking Life Skills of all kinds, and so much more! She'll be with 400 other like-minded nerds that'll be jamming to tunes during the Glow Night dance party, watching films during Time Travel Night, dressing up for Costume Night, eating, playing, laughing, dr-stressing, and generally gaining inspiration on how to level up her life (and help make PU&GG even better!) She'll be bringing back pictures, videos, souvenirs, and memories to last a lifetime. If you're interested in Camp Nerd Fitness (2016 is sold out, but keep an eye out for 2017 soon), head on over to their website and see for yourself why Heather is so psyched to be going. If you're headed down to Georgia next week, look for Heather in House Volo and say Hi. She'll be bringing copies of Heroes of Shaleria to play during downtime. Stay Tuned for a recap in a few weeks!

PU&GG Will Be At GAMEHOLE CON in Madison, WI, Nov. 4-6!

One last note... PU&GG HQ will be moving over the next month to a new location (i.e. Scott and Heather are moving across town), so while we will do our best to update the website, most of our posts will be on the Facebook sites (PU&GG Main and Shaleria LARP) as well as on Twitter ( @PickUpNGoGames ). If you have yet to join us there, please click on the links and join us for all of the latest PU&GG news, LARP updates, live feeds, and general awesomeness! We hope to game with you soon!

Heather has been attending GenCon since 1992 and is a well-seasoned veteran of the event while Tim will be attending his very first GenCon (newbie!!). Summer Event, New Product, and GenCon! Oh my!

Wow! It's already two weeks into July! Since the end of the Spring LARP Event, the PU&GG Team has been crazy busy with work, work, and more work! We apologize for not posting sooner, but with the kids out of school, jobs and summer school, plus gearing up for GenCon next month, as well as working hard to bring you some great new products, our schedules have been packed! So grab a Dew, pull up a stool, and let's catch up!

This past Sunday, the PU&GG Team held the Shaleria LARP Summer Event at the Bristol Renaissance Faire and everyone had a blast! Our only non-combat event of the season, there were puzzles to be solved and RP galore. Oh, and some great Faire eats and drinks too.

Our party of heroes arrived at Ghoul'hyme Castle in time for the Royal Day festival, commemorating the founding of the kingdom of Areos. The newly titled Lady Fea was welcomed to her new home in a grand way, yet the day was not without its trials as the goddess Lyndis decided to partake of the festivities as well. Taunting and mocking the party members for her amusement, forcing the group to solve her puzzles, allowing the heroes a thread of future events and, in the end, a choice... Should our brave heroes stay within the walled safety of Ghoul'hyme Castle or continue their adventure to the city of Jor-Carmin and its magical treasures?

Our Autumn Shaleria LARP Event will be held on Sept. 30 - Oct 2!

We have combined some of our best-selling supplements into a single handy book! Now, you can have our Advanced Players Guide, Psionics, Trinkets & Artifacts, and Vehicles & Airships supplements right at your fingertips without the need for multiple books. The Players Codex: Book One is the first in our Players Codex series.

Within these pages you'll find:

+ Fifteen new races, including: psionic races, Half-Ogres, Lizardman, Tieflings, Aasimars, and many more!

+ Seven new classes (Anti-Paladin, Oracle, Thaumaturgist, Gunslinger, Psion, Wilder, and Psychic Warrior).

+ Vehicles and Airships, including the ZS-3100 and the Century Eagle.

+ New Skill (Concentration).

+ Psicrystals (psionic familiars).
+ Psionic Powers & Items.

+ Two optional rules (Heroism and Multi-class).

+ More detailed rules for magic/psionic item creation (using the Crypts & Creatures system).

+ 36 unique magic items.

+ 2 unique psionic items.

+ Over ten new spells.

Available now only at DriveThruRPG!

The Best Four Days in Gaming is kicking off in only 3 weeks and the entire PU&GG Team is going to be there! While circumstances prevented us from becoming official exhibitors this year, the whole Team is beyond excited to be attending GenCon 2016! The Team will be running demo games and answering questions all week, so feel free to jump in and give Crypts & Creatures or Heroes of Shaleria a try. Chat with the Team about our upcoming products or LARP events. We can't wait to meet you!

If you're going to be in Indianapolis on Wednesday, come play games with us and the Kentucky Fried Gamers at both The Ram and at Scotty's Brewhouse! Scott and Heather are running the Heroes of Shaleria card game at The Ram from 1-5pm. The gaming is FREE, so sign up here asap before all of the slots are taken: http://friendsofgravity.com/rpgsignup/

The PU&GG Team will also getting their interview on with the crew from Geekbotchery while at GenCon, so stay tuned to see what happens!

That's it for now. We hope to have a few more announcements before our Indy roadtrip begins. Keep an eye out both here and on our Facebook page for all of the latest and greatest PU&GG info!

The Shaleria LARP Spring Event is Ov-ah!

Holy cow! We made it through another event! Season 6 has begun and we're excited for what's to come! We're also exhausted as hell, but that's to be expected. The whole LARP Team hopes that you had a great time. We know we did!

As we announced during Wrap-Up, our Summer Event is Sunday, July 10 at the Bristol Renaissance Faire and our Autumn Event is Sept 30-Oct 2nd at the Rockford Christian Camp (we will have the kitchen, cabins, bathhouse, etc). Look for all of the info on the Pick Up & Go Games website and on this page under Events.

The after-event get-together was a blast as always, but this time brought up some very interesting points of discussion. The GMs always value our attendees' opinions as we strive to make Shaleria events better and better, so this feedback was very important to us and we have decided to make some changes to the way we offer meals and schedule times at our events. The specifics can be found on our Facebook page.

We are also looking into new ways to bring Shaleria LARP to players over the summer in some form. We'll keep you apprised as developments emerge.

Again, Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! for supporting Shaleria LARP and we hope to continue serving you in the future. Much love and Zzzzzzzz to you all!

IndieBlend invades Shaleria!

Yes, you read that headline correctly! The amazing ladies from IndieBlend has decided that they need more gaming in their lives (as well as on their YouTube show) and have chosen to delve into the world of Shaleria to fulfill this quest. These brave adventurers will be trained in arts arcane and divine, devious and deadly, how to put the pointy end in the other guy and how to take a beating (or run away; that works too.) Then, after the dust settles and war wounds compared, they will take their new-found knowledge (and footage) and upload their adventures into the Interwebs for all to see.

You too can join these amazing geeks and discover the world of Shaleria for yourself May 20-22 (this weekend!!)

The Marketplace is Open for Business

The Pick Up & Go Games Team is proud to announce a brand new page here on our website: The Marketplace!   We are now able to share some of our favorite geek companies and sources with you and we hope you'll show them some love. Our Spring 2016 LARP Event is ONE WEEK AWAY!

The PU&GG Team is hard at work putting the finishing touches on the first Shaleria LARP Event of the season and we couldn't be more excited! (Well, we could be, but that would involve Harry Dresden, Deadpool, and a tub full of green jello. Best not to ask... ~H.) As we continue to write, print, paint, sew, and freak out, we wanted to make sure you know about our newest LARP feature... PREPAY! Yes, we now offer the ability for Players, Monster Campers, and Observers the chance to give us money before the event even happens. This also means that you can now use your credit card, debit card, or PayPal account to pay for your spot at one of our events (does not include the Summer Event at the Bristol Renaissance Faire). We will open Pre-Pay options approximately 1 month prior to an event and requests for refunds must be made no later than 48hrs before an event begins (please allow 1-2 weeks for refunds to process). We are also in the process of attempting to take credit/debit cards at the event, but this is a work in process. We will keep you up-to-date as we learn more!
The menu for the
Spring 2016 Event is now live!

As always, we have to give a special thanks to our devoted players for taking the time and some of their hard-earned funds to make sure everyone can eat at our events. THANK YOU!

If you would like to donate food, money, or assist the Team with meals, please contact us at [email protected] or use the Donate button on the Menu page!

Be seeing you! (Next weekend, that is.) Are you prepared?
